How we can help you
Chronic pain is complex, we are here for you.
Procedures
Our patients have access to procedural interventions both in the consult rooms and St George Private. These may include nerve blocks, injections, Stellate Ganglion blocks, radiofrequency therapies and spinal cord stimulators.
Allied Health
Our clinical psychologists and physiotherapists specialise in chronic, generalised and pelvic pain. They each work closely with Megumi Health’s pain specialists to ensure great outcomes.
Referrals
Specialist Referral
You will need a referral from your GP or specialist prior to your first appointment.
This referral may be addressed to the physician you wish to see, or simply to ‘Megumi Health’.
Psychology Referral
You don’t need a referral to see one of our psychologists.
However, you may wish to book with your GP to discuss your eligibility for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). If eligible, you will receive a Medicare rebate to assist with the cost of your sessions. Read more about it here.
If you don’t have a MHCP, you may be able to claim with your Private Health Insurance or pay the sessional fee privately.
Work Cover or CTP Claims
If your injury or pain is related to a Work Cover or CTP claim, your insurer will need to approve each appointment. Please seek approval prior to your initial appointment.
The approval will need to include the following item codes:
- Pain Medicine Specialist: AF010
- Clinical Psychologist: PSY001
- Physiotherapist: PTA001

Please bring your referral plus any relevant scans, reports and results to your first appointment.
After booking your initial appointment, you will be emailed your appointment details and a New Patient Registration form to complete prior to attending.
